Bike Ride Rainbow Butterflies!

Happy Fri-yeah everybody! I'm just dropping in to share a card I made today. I'm really happy with how it turned out. It was the result of me wanting to participate in a few challenges this week but being a bit time poor (having to work this weekend *sigh*) there was no way I was going to get even half of them done. So, what I did is combine four of the challenges. The first challenge was the sketch at Freshly Made Sketches, this gave me my design layout. As you can see when you get to my card, I've changed the orientation from landscape to portrait.

Next, I needed to think of a stamp set to use. Problem solved! At What Will You Stamp their current stamp set is the Bike Ride Stamp Set.

The current challenge at Joy of Sets is using a stamp set beginning with the letter "B", tick that box also!

And over at SUO Challenges their theme for challenge #181 is Butterflies and Dragonflies, that's my fourth tick and in the process a card designed! I'd better show it to you hadn't I?

Super cute, don't you think? I love those little butterflies, they are cut with a tiny little die from the matching Build a Bike Framelits.

Inside and envelope love! The multipurpose sheets make adhering the border a cinch!

Why don't you consider doing some of these challenges? They certainly are a great jump of point and in my case today, pretty much designed the whole card!

Thank you for stopping by today, have a fabulous weekend!

Cheers Megan xx

CTC141 - Birthday - Sweet Ride

Hello again! I'm back with the CASEing the Catty Challenge. This week we are CASEing from the Birthday section of the Stampin' Up! Annual Catalogue. You may be starting with me or have just hopped on over from Peta's page, her project looked yummier than the contents within!

This week I decided to CASE the top card on page 71.

The stamp set I chose is Bike Ride. Such a cute set! You can make all sorts of bikes and put all sorts of things in their baskest. Flowers, apples, books etc. My basket had to have a little dog in it, in honour of adopting Kobe, our foster pup. Yep, we were meant to be just fostering him..........  but he has just slotted into our family so easily and is such a great mate for our bigger dog Tilda, we just couldn't bear to see him go anywhere else!

As well as changing up the stamp set I also stepped it up a notch by adding an embossed mat. I love the bright combo of Melon Mambo and Bermuda Bay, it makes me want to repaint my bike to the same colours!!

Some inside and envelope love! Washi tape makes it so easy!

Thanks so much for stopping by! For more great inspiration don't forget to hop on around to everyone and see their awesome creations. Your next stop is Sandra who has a gorgeous, shiny creation for you, just click the button below.

After seeing all we have to share, why not join in with the challenge at our Face Book page, it's super easy to do, just click the button below to be taken directly there.

Scrapbooking Global August Bloghop - Photobooth Fun!

Happy Sunday everyone! I can't believe how the weeks fly by!

This afternoon I have something a bit different to share, a memory keeping project. Memory keeping is what got me into the wonderful world of paper craft. I have albums and albums of photos that are not only looking pretty or awesome with their bits and bobs of decorations, but are also on coffee tables and shelves ready for someone to grab and reminisce! You may have hopped on over from Sharon's page, who along with Lou Kitzelman, have gotten this first blog hop up and running. Thank you ladies for all your fabulous hard work! If you have started with me, grab a cuppa as we have lots of scrapbooking/memory keeping inspiration in store for you!

In the past couple of years, I have been having so much fun making cards that I have let my memory keeping fall to the wayside. It's been one of those things that every now and then I say, I need to do some scrapbooking, but don't do anything about it, even when Stampin' Up! provide so many wonderful products to assist with this! So, when I saw the call out on one of the Facebook groups I'm a member of, Scrapbooking Global, to do a blog hop I immediately said "Yes, me!" Blog hops and challenges, I love! They get me producing more projects as well as getting me out of my comfort zone and challenging me to use colours I may not have picked in a million years, or in this case, finally getting a memory preserved.

I still have the challenge to overcome, of getting the photos printed, it's one of those jobs I just never seem to do! For this challenge I even had all my photos uploaded onto an online printing company ready to go. Did I get around to finalising it, paying for it and hitting that final send button? No! So it was a mad dash of looking around for something I already had printed to get this project done ready for the blog hop. Please, if you have any suggestions on how you get yours done, do share!

I happened across this fun photo booth photo my daughter and I did a few years ago. I've had it on my pin board as I love it, but thought seeing as I love it so much, it is about time I preserved it, especially as I can't just go and print another one. I love fun, non formal photos and the Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper (DSP) was perfect for this fun photo. I've actually used quite a range of different products with this page, that is one of the reasons I love Stampin' Up! so much, as everything is coordinated right across the catalogue with their core colour range and it makes it so easy to design with.

My layout is a 6" x 8" (the black and white piece is only a photo back drop! if you wanted to make a 12" x 12" layout you could just make it a permanent fixture!), I find that the smaller albums are the ones that are the most picked up and viewed and designing them is just that bit quicker, so more memory keeping achieved in less time.

How I put this together-:

  • Emerald Envy base
  • Matted with Sahara Sand, stamped all over with the circles from the Pieces and Patterns Stamp Set
  • Photo strip matted with Pick a Pattern DSP
  • Tab punched with Circle Tab punch and stamped with the Tabs for Everything Stamp Set
  • Title circle is stamped with the Eastern Beauty Stamp Set and die cut with the Stitched Shape Circle matted on a Scalloped Circle
  • Emerald Envy & Flirty Flamingo medallion and the Crushed Curry flower type medallion uses the Eastern Medallions Thinlits
  • The cute camera DSP circle is also from the Pick a Pattern DSP and die cut with a Stitched Shape Circle Thinlit
I hope you have enjoyed seeing something a bit different, for more scrapbooking inspiration please continue on with the blog hop by clicking on the next button below, your next stop is Peta, my friend and gorgeous upline.

Or if you get lost, a list of all participants is below and you can click the link to go directly to their page. Thank you for taking the time to read my blog!

CASEing the Catty 140 - Sweet Thoughts

Hi everyone! Hope you have had a fabulous week! Our week would best be described as a holding pattern! No word from insurers yet re "The Flood" and the gorgeous Kobe, our foster dog is still with us. It is going to be so hard to let him go, we are all getting so attached to him, humans and dogs alike.

This week the Design Crew are CASEing the For Babies & Kids. I love this section so many gorgeous and cute stamp sets.

For my CASE today I have chosen this card on page 107.

As much as I adore colouring images, I really loved the look of the beautiful image just simply stamped in Crumb Cake ink on Crumb Cake card stock. Here is my take....

The stamp set I have chosen is the current Ronald McDonald Charity stamp set Sharing Sweet Thoughts. It was a must have purchase for me as it coordinates with the Jar of Love Stamp Set that was carried over from last year and deservedly so, it is one of my favourites! For every Sweet Thoughts stamp set sold Stampin' Up! donate to the charity, so there is your justification right there, if you don't already have it you had better get it and do the right thing (wink, wink) no buyers remorse to be had with this purchase lovelies and I guess if you don't have the Jar of Love set it would only make sense to get that too!! I'll list all the products I have used down below.

We would love it if you participated in our challenge, it is so easy as you are not designing a project off the top of your head, you are using the amazing projects found right at your fingertips in the Stampin' Up! catalogue (aka Catty). You also don't need a blog to participate all you do is post your photo to our Face Book page, click the button below to be taken there,

Now to continue hopping around to see all that the Design Crew have made this week, just click the button below.

Thanks so much for stopping by and reading my blog!
